Ctrl-Home going to the beginning of the document is TERRIBLE.
When i am translating a sentence, i expect Ctrl-Home to go to the beginning of the sentence, not the beginning of the document. It frustrates me badly and makes the toolkit nearly unusable.
I tried sending this problem through the "Contact us" form, but received a bounce email.

Hello, Please accept my apologies if this is not the right place to post this plea.
I have been working on and off on a pro bono translation project on a unique book of current and historical value in Mandarin Chinese about surgical treatments for polio sequelae for a year now. I would like the book (and its various translations in different languages ) to be published as a knol collection of sections and chapters of the book.
After various trial and error strategies, as of now my plan to have the project completed most effectively is as follows:
0) The book is currently split into various sections and chapters of 4 to 10 word file pages each of which would represent approximately a knol article. I have created the knol collection page.
1) The next step would be to upload the files as knol articles. Difficulty: I have tried doing so but what is uploaded as knol is very poorly formatted and it is for me exceedingly time consuming to attempt 'manual' fixes. If there is anyone who can volunteer just to take the word files and upload them as properly formatted knol articles, that would be neat and their contribution will be properly acknowledged.
2)The next step would be to use the knol translation tool to translate in the various languages that may be of interest.
Difficulty: Apparently because my native language is English on Knol and the text is in Mandarin Chinese, the "Help Translate this knol into your own language" link that is on my other knols on the upper/middle box section does not appear. Any help with this problem would be neat and properly acknowledged.
3) Work on developing effective translation memories and Glossary for the specialized language used in the book that will help over time improve the quality of the various translated versions of the book
Difficulty: This is a 476 pages (highly illustrated though) specialized book and I am familiar with its content but, I still need to work on it and receive help from others. Here a little physiology/anatomy training as well as interest/curiosity to research terms/language would help deliver better and improving results overtime.Again, Any help here would be neat and properly acknowledged.
Because of my own struggles with the condition, I consider information contained in the book as essential human knowledge and expertise that must be preserved, even though most who would benefit from its content can not provide viable economic returns.
I would be very happy if people working at Google Translate or Google Knol were to take an interest in furthering the completion of this project in any way shape or form that can be helpful. Again I have no financial interest in this and I do not expect to receive any. If you know a way of contacting them please let me know. e-mail my lastname at gmail dot com.

Please, I need a clear button for translate tool. It is uncomfortable to have to select all previous text and use delete keyboard button for then introduce another text to translate. Please design it!!!!! thank you

Hi, the keyboard shortcuts is a most welcomed addition, I saw you introduced search and replace and other goodies for advanced users. That's excellent. here's a little bug report: - atleast in hebrew, when deleting the last character of a word, the space next to it, gets deleted as well. - when using ctrl arrow to jump words, the text cursor jumps in the opposite direction.
and a little request: swap between two adjacent words using a keyboard shortcut.
for Hebrew, there is an easy way to improve your translation. nouns have a gender (male or female) and the adjectives describing those nouns, get the same gender, whether in singular or plural. if there is a list of several nouns, and one adjective describing them all, if one of them is male, the adjective would also be male, regardless of how many 'female' nouns there were (more or less accurate description - there is something about 1:70, which I'm not sure still holds). In any case, if you'd like to go past statistics, and actually translate by rules, these grammar rules are all well understood and accessible. (not complicated too)
The deal was brokered following complaints by two staff members about the way they were treated.
